There are a few things which are hard to replicate: It captures the motions, but devoid of their underlying meaning and power. OpenBB is a Fisher Price oven to the industrial analog. Every user has a unique set of mission-critical functions they would need replaced to switch. The terminal transforms those data through tens of thousands specialised, constantly-maintained tools.
On top of that are specialised reference data like an App Store, there are entire businesses built on serving over Bloomberg. Something like 35 million assets have pricing pipes to Bloomberg. The data feeds are ridiculously numerous. data feeds just replicate it for considerably less money? But if you know in which locations their stores operate, you can take other dollar stores in those areas and get an idea of how dollar tree/dollar general stores MIGHT be performing even before earnings release, probably need to adjust for more efficient operations but u get the idea.> Couldn't someone with a cheap windows PC and a pair of monitors + misc. Now dollar tree and dollar general wont expose their store data. You can do a lot with that in terms of trying to figure out if a dollar store is good to buy. We know how much businesses in the area are being sold for to places like ours who also buy dollar store, we know whos buying them. We know their line items, revenue expenses on a quarterly, (sometimes monthly) basis. We know how they set up their stores, where they put which products and how long they keep their product there, how big the store is, whether they have capacity for more products. We know who their customers are, where they live, where they work, their credit score, their age, their income, how often they come in, etc. Be it operating already or still planned to be opened. Our most expensive data is data on individal dollar stores, doesnt capture everything but its enough. We buy individual dollar stores, dollar store stocks like dollar general/dollar tree, and private companies that own dollar stores. I don't wanna say exactly what we work in on but for discussion purposes, let's say we buy dollar stores.
